Xerox Xc23 Printer - Consistently The Powerhouse Performer
When considering the Xerox XC23 printer and Xerox XC23 toner is it important to note that this model has been discontinued, which certainly doesn‘t take away from the quality that exists. There are several online retailers that are selling this model used, so if you are in the market for a low cost used printer/copier, then you may want to take a look. Here I will go over the specs of this model, and give some basic information about what is can and can not do.
First and foremost, when you consider the specs of this model, you have to keep in mind that it is in fact a printer and a copier. The speeds won’t be the same as a machine that is only a printer. This model copies and prints up to 23 ppm black and white. That is a pretty decent speed for a copier. Depending on what you are using it for, this would easily accommodate most small business needs.
This printer comes with all the basics, including an automatic document feeder, stapler, and collator. The collator is in the form of sorting bins. There is no binder available for this model. The maximum monthly volume of this unit is 20,000 sheets, so it has a fairly high productivity rate. This model also has an automatic input of 750 sheets, or if you prefer manual input, it can hold 50 sheets.
As far as technical details goes, this device does use a standard light lens for making copies. It also uses standard black cartridges that can be found through numerous online retailers. This is a larger unit, and may not be suitable for home use, but I have included the exact specs on that below.
One nice thing about this model is that you can set it to make up to 99 copies at a time. It also comes with five different enlargement/reduction settings. This allows you to format your copies in a variety of sizes, and can save paper by allowing you to shrink images to fit.
As I mentioned before, this is a sizable machine. It weighs 152 pounds and its dimensions are 35.5 x 24.2 x 22 inches. This would be a nice size for small business use, but may be a bit much for personal use. Depending on what you need this device for, it does appear to be very efficient, and when you consider the fact that it would be a used purchase at a lower price, it is still feasible to consider it for home use, if you have the space available.
When you consider all the benefits of this this unit, it does seem to be a pretty good buy. With it’s easy to use interface, even someone with very little copier knowledge would have no problems using this model. This model is very similar to what you might see a self copy type shop. It is a basic copier and printer, with just enough features to make it productive without going overboard on features.
Since the Xerox XC23 Printer is no longer available new, you would have to purchase a used one. There are numerous companies online that have these for sale. They seem to run about $250 used, and the replacement cartridges are approximately $80-$85. For the price, this may very well be worth the investment even though is discontinued.
Online retailers stock XC23 toner cartridges, as they do for the many different types of Xerox laser toners. Great prices on compatible toners can be found just with a little searching and a few clicks.
